EITCA reminds Mid-South to file taxes for FREE in new video featuring United Way director

United Way Community Impact Director Nidia Logan speaking on behalf of volunteers serving as part of the Earned Income Tax Credit Alliance (EITCA) remind qualified citizens to use a local FREE tax preparation site this year.

To find the nearest free tax preparation site, call 2-1-1 or the service’s backup number, 901.415.2790. (See this article for details.)

If your income is below $57,000 you can also visit

http://www.myfreetaxes.com/uwmidsouth to complete your taxes online. Myfreetaxes.com is sponsored by Wal-Mart and brought to you by United Way Worldwide, the National Disability Institute and Goodwill.

Free tax preparation sites are staffed by trained volunteers from Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and other local groups striving to connect local citizens with more of their own money through income tax returns. This creates greater financial stability for individuals and families and brings millions of dollars into our Mid-South economy.
